On Wednesday, March 25th, runners emerged from the gates of Heřmanice Prison – individuals who would likely never have met under normal circumstances. Among them were representatives of authorities, NGOs, companies, 17 convicted individuals, and 2 former inmates. All wearing the same yellow ribbon t-shirt, they ran together to Komenský Gardens. This marked the start of the 11th annual Yellow Ribbon Run, a run against prejudice.
In total, around a hundred people arrived from 13 organizations. At the finish line, families awaited the convicted individuals; for many of them, this was one of the few shared moments during their entire sentence. The run served as a reminder that punishment should not be a final end, but an opportunity for a new chapter in life.
The 11th annual event will be dedicated to children and young people who have made a mistake
This year's event, whose main public event takes place on June 11, 2026, at Hvězda Game Reserve in Prague, focuses on the theme of a second chance for children and young people in conflict with the law. It highlights support, responsibility, and mental health for those who have made a mistake. Would you like to meet us? Register and we look forward to seeing you at the start.

Highlights from the 11th Annual Event
Summer has flown by and we are diving headfirst into preparations for our twelfth year. It will take place June 10, 2027, once again at the Obora Hvězda. In the meantime, take a look back at how our 11th year went.

Thank you for running with us
The 11th annual event is behind us, and we want to say just one thing: THANK YOU. 💛 Together, we have shown once again that running can bring people together, break down prejudices, and open doors to second chances.
Nearly 1,200 of us stood at the start
Nearly 700 of us gathered at the Obora Hvězda park for the start of this year's Yellow Ribbon Run to take our places at the starting line.
- Over 400 inmates participated in runs held within prisons.
- 60 young athletes took part in the kids' run.
- The record for the highest participation among employers and partners this year goes to A-GIGA with 38 participants.

Thank you to all the runners, volunteers, partners, Czech Prison Service staff, organizers, and supporters. Without you, the Yellow Ribbon Run would not be what it is.

What else can you look forward to besides the race?
All runners will receive a refreshment voucher, a t-shirt, and a medal at the finish line.
DJ Gruu will be back to provide the music.
Family fun
A side program awaits children and parents, including giant Ludo and other games. You can also make your own bracelets and badges. And you certainly deserve some popcorn, which will be available for free at the Kafebouda stand.
