On Wednesday, March 25th, runners emerged from the gates of Heřmanice Prison – individuals who would likely never have met under normal circumstances. Among them were representatives of authorities, NGOs, companies, 17 convicted individuals, and 2 former inmates. All wearing the same yellow ribbon t-shirt, they ran together to Komenský Gardens. This marked the start of the 11th annual Yellow Ribbon Run, a run against prejudice.
In total, around a hundred people arrived from 13 organizations. At the finish line, families awaited the convicted individuals; for many of them, this was one of the few shared moments during their entire sentence. The run served as a reminder that punishment should not be a final end, but an opportunity for a new chapter in life.
The 11th annual event will be dedicated to children and young people who have made a mistake
This year's event, whose main public event takes place on June 11, 2026, at Hvězda Game Reserve in Prague, focuses on the theme of a second chance for children and young people in conflict with the law. It highlights support, responsibility, and mental health for those who have made a mistake. Would you like to meet us? Register and we look forward to seeing you at the start.

Something went wrong! What now?
This is the theme of the upcoming 12th annual event, which will take place on June 10, 2027, once again in the beautiful surroundings of the Hvězda game reserve. Next year, we won't just be talking about when things go wrong. We want to work together to find the answer to the question of where and how a child or young person can find help when something has already happened, or when their situation starts to become complicated.
Punishment, problematic behavior, or a court decision does not have to be the end of the road. There are services, experts, and organizations that help teenagers and their loved ones manage the situation and find a way forward.

Breakfast with non-profit organizations and our new ambassador
Last Thursday, we met with non-profit organizations that work with children, young people, and families. Together with our new ambassador, actress and presenter Míša Maurerová, we introduced a new theme, but most importantly, we discussed how they and their clients can get involved with the Yellow Ribbon.
For clients, including the youngest ones, we want to continue offering free registration for the Yellow Ribbon Run. This way, they won't just be lining up as runners, but also as part of a shared campaign for a second chance for everyone who has made a mistake.
With the organizations that run with us or focus on similar topics, we will focus on these questions in the coming months:
- What do children and young people struggle with most often?
- Where can they find help today?
- What is missing in the system?
- How can we give their experience and voice a place within the Yellow Ribbon?
- How can our community show what can follow after a setback?
