On Wednesday, March 25th, runners emerged from the gates of Heřmanice Prison – individuals who would likely never have met under normal circumstances. Among them were representatives of authorities, NGOs, companies, 17 convicted individuals, and 2 former inmates. All wearing the same yellow ribbon t-shirt, they ran together to Komenský Gardens. This marked the start of the 11th annual Yellow Ribbon Run, a run against prejudice.
In total, around a hundred people arrived from 13 organizations. At the finish line, families awaited the convicted individuals; for many of them, this was one of the few shared moments during their entire sentence. The run served as a reminder that punishment should not be a final end, but an opportunity for a new chapter in life.
The 11th annual event will be dedicated to children and young people who have made a mistake
This year's event, whose main public event takes place on June 11, 2026, at Hvězda Game Reserve in Prague, focuses on the theme of a second chance for children and young people in conflict with the law. Na děti a rodiče čeká doprovodný program, jako je obří Člověče, nezlob se a jiné herní aktivity. Vyrobit si můžete náramky a odznaky. A určitě si zasloužíte i popcorn, který bude k dostání zdarma u stánku Kafebouda.

The press conference for the 11th annual event was once again held at the Hilton Prague Atrium Hotel
"Juvenile delinquency can be prevented by increasing pressure on families as soon as a child starts exhibiting problematic behavior, for instance, at school," said Gabriela Slováková, director of the Probation and Mediation Service (PMS), at yesterday's press conference.
And it is precisely this year's edition will be dedicated to children and young people.. If you haven't registered yet, it's high time. We'll meet at the start in two weeks.

The 11th edition is held under the patronage of the President, the Ministry of Justice, and the City of Prague.
We greatly appreciate the trust we have received from the City of Prague, led by Councillor Antonín Klecanda, MBA, and also from the Ministry of Justice of the Czech Republic, led by Dr. Jeroným Tejc. The event was also endorsed by Czech President Petr Pavel.
In his letter, the Minister of Justice praised the project for its long-standing efforts to break down prejudices, change society's perception of former convicts, and offer people with a criminal past and their families a second chance at a decent life. He also highlighted the project's contribution to crime prevention and reducing recidivism.
